But I'm talkin' about Craft (Then we can dig it)
What: Laura came over to frame a picture for Luke's birthday. It was a sweet print of St. Michael driving Satan out of heaven that she picked up at the ren faire this past July. A few weeks ago we went to Michael's picked out a frame, and backing board, and glass and stuff. Graham was called in to cut the print down to size for the frame. The frame was 16x20 and the image fit inside it quite well but there was too much extra paper. The other problem we ran into was the frame not having those little metal doohickeys that hold the backing in. So Laura borrowed Jae's drill (that's what you get for not coming over, Sucker!) and is going to pick them up at the hardware store later this week.
Graham did more painting on his "Dark Elf Riding Horse" Warhammer miniature. Last week I told you he used yellow, but it was actually gold. He had a little trouble with the washes he used over the gold and silver trim, but was able to correct that this week. The cats tried really hard to drink his paint water.
I tightened the elastic on the zills I purchased at Pennsic. They are copper to match the tray I attempt to balance on my head every week in class. There was a lot of pocking my fingers with the needle. Then I uploaded some photos to Facebook.
Füd Ordered: One small cheese pizza, sixteen chicken wings.
Füd Recieved: One small cheese pizza, ten chicken wings. But the pizza place gave us back $4 to make up for running out of wings.
T.V.: Project Runway, natch! I think this will be a regular staple of craft night viewing. Then we watched "Baby Cakes - The Role Play Tournament", a long time favorite that Laura had never seen. After Laura left Graham and I watched, like, 30 episodes of the "Gilmore Girls".
Breaks Taken: We stopped doing stuff to really focus on Baby Cakes. At one point Graham and I stopped to play a game of Cock Blokus. He won, but I am pretty sure he cheated.
Excuses: Apologies for the lack of photos again, my camera suffered and unfortunate roller skating accident and will need to be fixed or replaced.

Sunday Crafty Sundaaaaayaaay
In attendance: Graham, Whitney, and Heather. Jae wasn’t there because he “forgot.” I’m pretty sure he was just paying us back for missing fencing. –Such- a vindictive bastard, that Weisbrot.
Food ordered: Baingan Bartha, Vegetable Jalfrazi, Paratha, and Naan from Kebab Corner.
Food delivered: Baingan Bartha, Chicken Tikki, Paratha, and Naan from Kebab Corner. I called them up to tell them inform them of their mistake, about which they were very nice and quite accommodating. They rushed an order of Vegetable Jalfrazi back to the house and were there in less than half an hour. Unfortunately their Jalfrazi contains paneer, a thing I can’t eat and Graham won’t eat. So the Jalfrazi went to one lucky Laura on Monday. Who even puts paneer in Jalfrazi?! Apparently it’s regional thing, so I don’t feel bad for having not known that it could happen, since my previous Jalfrazi experiences were all paneer free. In any case, their food was super tasty and I would totally order from them again.
Crafts worked on: Graham painted Dark Elfs. Looked like a dude on a horse. He used some black paint and some yellow paint. Whitney worked on a quilted thing. She sketched a design, cut out the fabric, and started piecing it together. She’s using shades of lavender and a sagey kind of green. She’s probably the most diverse in her crafting amongst us. My intention was to mink oil everyone’s boots and then make boffer swords, but I had neither mink oil nor pipe foam in my possession. Instead, I knit. I worked on Erin’s Little Red Cap for ToV, using blood red Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Worsted. I started this cap awhile ago but am just now getting back to it. It’s the weirdest thing, but suddenly all my knitting is easier. This pattern, which contains both a lace and a cable pattern, terrified me at first, but now I am excited at the diversity in stitches. I think knitting Leethal’s Circle Wrist Cuff helped me get over my “stitches that aren’t knits, purls, or yarn overs” fear.
Things we watched: The Daily Show, the Milky Joe episode of The Mighty Boosh, The Venture Brothers, and after Whitney left “Saawariya”. I forgot how sappy that movie is. My favorite parts are those that feature Salman Khan because he adds a level of dark and broody to an otherwise somewhat hysterical and overly saccharine piece.
Next time: Pictures! (I forgot to take any this time)

This One's For You, Somerville
This blog is set up to chronicle our weekly craft nights here in Somerville. I expect there will be a diverse cast of characters, and an even more diverse cast of project-types--from knitting to nerdcrafts, it'll all be here.
